On June 25, 2020, Disney publicly announced plans to retheme their classic log flume attraction, Splash Mountain, in both of their American parks. The Uncle Remus inspired attraction will make way for a structurally similar attraction based on Disney’s 2009 animated film, The Princess and the Frog. Although this planned refurbishment hasn’t started yet, there are rumors that it may begin during its routine closure in the first quarter of 2022.
